The semester is officially gaining speed as the Finch Fanatics fly into the planning of the famous Gus Macker Launch Party. This week T.A. Madison Moore (call sign: Moomad) walked the crew through the logistics of the Launch Party which is just now under a month away!
The Gus Macker Launch Party not only provides students the opportunity to transform a venue and create an engaging event to hype up the tournament, it is also an opportunity for the CMU Macker Team to give back with half of the proceeds from the 50/50 raffle going back into the community via the United Way of Gratiot & Isabella Counties.
The Launch Party offers a multitude of experiences to keep participants engaged. There are special drink and food deals running all night (make sure to get your $3 wristbands at the door to unlock the special pricing), and an incredible silent auction. The silent auction operates in three rounds, each with amazing prizes, that the crew has procured. As T.O. always says “it’s not what you know, it’s who you know!”
The 2023 Launch Party was a record breaking year. The most 50/50 raffle tickets sold ($1,030 worth), the highest retail value for auction items ($9,135), the most amount made during the silent auction ($4,023), and the most raised total ($5,066). Help us make this year even more incredible by showing up on February 22nd to O’Kelly’s from 7-10pm!
The crew also took their first Court Captain quiz this week. All members of RPL 333 take a series of quizzes leading up to tournament weekend to make sure everyone
knows the rules of the game.
